SOLIDWORKS Simulation Cleaning Utility
The Simulation Cleaning Utility is a tool that gets installed with SOLIDWORKS, it is intended to allow you to delete Simulation data from SOLIDWORKS files. The Simulation Cleaning Utility lets you choose which data you want to delete including:
SOLIDWORKS Flow Simulation (include FloXpress)
You can find SW Simulation Cleaning Utility at the following location.
C:\Program Files\SOLIDWORKS Corp\SOLIDWORKS\Simulation\Utilities
Why delete simulation data?
-> You’re working on a project for a client, and you want to share the file/s with other parties, but they won’t need any of the Simulation information.
-> For General troubleshooting, in the cases where SOLIDWORKS crashes because of corrupted simulation data, in those cases SW Simulation cleaning utility will be helpful for cleaning the file. (*Please note, however, that this may not always be the cause of SOLIDWORKS crashing and it is highly recommend contacting out Technical Support team to diagnose the issue before deleting anything.)
How to use the Simulation Cleaning Utility?
-> Before running the utility, make sure the SolidWorks file you want to clean is not currently opened by SOLIDWORKS.
-> And it is good practice to make a back up your file before using the Simulation Cleaning Utility to clean it.
-> Open the Simulation Cleaning Utility.
-> Use the Browse button to select a SolidWorks Part or Assembly file.
-> In the Clean studies select any combination of product boxes,
- SOLIDWORKS Simulation
- SOLIDWORKS Motion
- SOLIDWORKS Flow Simulation (Include FloXpress)
- SOLIDWORKS Sustainability
- Click the Clean File button.
If you execute it properly, it will show a message “Success – Simulation data is cleaned from the file for selected simulation product(s)”
