What is Runner Balancing?

Runner Balancing is generally performed on a family mold. A family mold is a special type of multi-cavity mold containing two or more different parts, which may eventually form an assembly. These paired parts really have the same volume and fill characteristics, so the runner system of a family mold must be artificially balanced to ensure uniform pressure distribution in each cavity. The Runner Balancing command is used to do just that.

Types of Runners

In the multi-cavity injection molding process, each cavity better to have uniform pressure distribution to avoid uneven cooling and warping. From the below result, we can observe a study with uneven pressure distribution which may lead to defects.

When the Runner Balancing command is activated, one tab will be opened where we can give the parameters and number of iterations want to perform.
