In today’s fast-paced world, presenting ideas effectively is as important as developing them, especially to grab attention. Whether you’re a product designer crafting the next innovation, an engineer fine-tuning a complex mechanism, or a marketing professional preparing to showcase a product, the way your design is visualized can make or break its impact. Visualization is at the heart of every design journey. While traditional CAD tools help turn ideas into 3D models, the ability to render these models into photorealistic visuals elevates design communication to the next level.
This is where 3D Render, a role within the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, comes into the picture. This cutting-edge tool allows you to create photorealistic rendered images and animations, transforming digital models into lifelike realistic products. With the 3D Render roles, you can add material appearances, lighting, and environmental effects to make your models stand out, use cloud-based rendering to easily share visuals with stakeholders and gather feedback, and experiment with various scenarios and styles without the constraints of physical prototypes.
Ready to dive deeper into the world of 3D rendering and discover how it can revolutionize your design workflow?
1. Launch the ‘xStudio’ app in the 3D Render role from the Compass.
2. On the home page, to start a new project, select the ‘New Production’ option. You can access your earlier projects from the ‘Open Production’ option.
3. Proceed to select the required model and click ‘OK’
4. You can define the name and location to save your work.
5. In the 3D Render apps, on the left window, you have 4 tabs:
6. In the action bar, select the ‘Insert Material’ option.
7. Select the required material and click ‘OK’.
8. Here, you can adjust the visual properties of the material as per requirement.
9. Once the material is added in the Material Panel, simply select the part on which the material needs to be added and drag and drop the material on it. Similarly, apply all the material to all parts.
10. In the action bar, select ‘Insert Ambience’ option to insert ambience into your project.
11. Select the required ambience and click ‘OK’.
12. Here, you can set the properties of your ambience such as lights, background, etc. After applying the settings, click ‘OK’
13. In the Scenes tab, you can create various different iteration of your design. To add a new scene, click the ‘+’ option.
14. Make the necessary changes in the Material, Ambience and/or Assembly panels.
15. After completing all the required iterations, to start the render, select the ‘Export’ option.
16. Here, adjust the settings as per your requirements and click ‘Save & Render’ to start the rendering. Similarly, start the render for all your required scenes.
17. Click the ‘Render Job Monitor’ to see all the renders that you have started and its completion status. Here, you can see all your past rendered projects and scenes associated with it. It is stored for 90 days from the day of render. You can Download your Renders or share them in your 3DSwym community.
Whether you’re creating a product catalog, pitching an idea to stakeholders, or preparing marketing content, photorealistic rendering ensures your audience can fully grasp the potential of your design. It’s about making your ideas not just seen, but felt. So, with the 3D Render apps, you can create realistic images from your CAD data directly on your web browser. Importantly, there is no requirement for high-end hardware due to its cloud computing capability. Use the cloud-based rendering to easily share visuals with stakeholders and gather feedback. Experiment with various scenarios and styles without the constraints of physical prototyping.
