Manage your SOLIDWORKS Electrical files within SOLIDWORKS PDM Efficiently (Part 2)

In this blog, we will explain the second method using the “check-in/check-out method”. This method allows you to direct “Check-in” & “Check-Out” project from vault.

Methods of integration

There are two main methods of integration if we collaborate SOLIDWORKS Electrical with SOLIDWORKS PDM:

1. Use “Update files for PDM” button
2. Use “Check In/Check Out” button

Method 2: Use “Check In/Check Out” button

In our SOLIDWORKS Electrical Schematic, click on “Tools” tab and select the second option shown in the screenshot below.

Click OK.

Now we can “Check-In” or “Check-Out” the project directly from vault.

Select the project in Project Management tab for saving and exporting the data into vault by using check-in option.

Now the “Check-in Check-out” tab is available to manage the project.

Select the project and click on the “Check-in” tab as shown in below image.

Once we click on “Check-In” tab, then the project export data will be saving the selected folder inside the vault.
After clicking on “Check-In” tab the below window will pop-up.

As shown in above image, Same project folder will created and inside that PDF, DWG/DXF, Archive, 3D File, BOM etc will be automatically created inside this folder.
